As part of the IITM Zanzibar Seminar Series, Prof. C. V. Krishnamurthy, former Professor of Physics at IIT Madras, will deliver a seminar on “Structure and Dynamics of Strongly Confined Fluids” on 19 June. The talk will explore how fluids confined within sub-nanometer channels exhibit unique structural and dynamical properties that differ significantly from those of bulk fluids, with particular emphasis on the behavior of water under extreme confinement. Students, faculty, and researchers are invited to attend this engaging session and gain insights into contemporary challenges in condensed matter physics and molecular dynamics.

This School and Workshop explores exotic quantum phases in equilibrium and driven matter, focusing on quantum spin liquids, spin–orbit–coupled materials, experimental probes, and nonequilibrium control via Floquet engineering and ultrafast dynamics.
